Sheila Dillon visits Melton Mowbray to find out the story of its PGI application, and meets Matthew O鈥機allaghan, Chairman, of the Melton Mowbray Pork Pie Association, Stephen Hallam, of Ye Olde Pork Pie Shoppe, and Ian Hartland, from Mrs Elizabeth King鈥檚 Pork Pies.
And she asks studio guests Irene Bochetta, EU Protected Food Names Manager, Food from Britain, who promotes the EU protected names scheme in the UK, and Suzanne Wynn, chair of Slow Food UK鈥檚 Ark of Taste what such schemes offer the consumer.
