Samaritans 50th anniversary
Simon Armson, the Chief Executive of , joined the charity as a听volunteer in the 1970s.听 He explains how Samaritans has changed over that time and why volunteer rates are at their lowest point since he joined.

Brain scanning
Human beings are the only animals that have asymmetrical brains, this is thought to be the result of us having the capacity for language.听However some people do have symmetrical brains and new research suggests they are much more likely to suffer from psychoses like schizophrenia and manic depression. To test this out, Raj Persaud has his brain scanned by Dr. Claire Mackay, an MRC sponsored post doctorate research fellow for SANE.听 He also speaks to听Professor Tim Crow whose hypothesis it is.

Is fish good for the brain?
Psychiatric research can now prove that fish is good for the brain and that in fact fish oils can decrease depression and help treat mental illness. Dr Alex Richardson talks about her research into the effect of fish oils on dyslexic adults and dyspraxic children.
