Dymock is a small village in rolling farmland, about 15 miles north-west of Gloucester. When the Land Lines team visited in early April, the larger, more intensively farmed fields were newly ploughed and the heavy red clay soil was shiny with a spring shower. Amongst these, pockets of woodland and the older pastures were bursting with wild flowers and the remaining traditional orchards of the area were just coming into blossom - a rural scene to inspire the poetic soul.
The challenge:
Find the lines that link a fruit to a furrow; a furrow to a flower; and a fur to a field.

The landscape detectives in this programme are ecologist, Paul Evans and poet, James Crowden.
