The crime novelist becomes the central character in a new detective story
Elizabeth Mackintosh became one of the twentieth century’s leading crime writers under her pseudonym Josephine Tey. She also wrote plays under the name of Gordon Daviot - most notably she wrote ‘Richard of Bordeaux’, which launched the career of a young John Gielgud. Now, author Nicola Upson has written a crime novel in which Josephine Tey is one of the leading characters. The action in the book begins as the London run of ‘Richard of Bordeaux’ is drawing to a close.
