Ìý Lauren Child's Friday 3 August 2001 Ìý
Lauren Child's varied career has included making lampshades out of saris and painting the dots onto Damien Hirst's canvasses.

She's now a children's writer and illustrator and has just won the Kate Greenaway Medal for her book I will not ever Never eat a tomato - the story of a fussy eater called Lola and her older brother Charlie.
Lauren joins Martha to talk about her wilful heroine and her own aversion to 'puddings or anything with bits in.'
Lauren Child is author of children's books: Clarice Bean That's Me, ISBN 1-84121-583-X and I will not ever Never eat a tomato, ISBN 1-84121-602-X - both published by Orchard Books, price: £4.99 each.
