Ìý Tracy Chevalier Monday 6 August 2001 Ìý
Tracy Chevalier is the author of Girl with a Pearl Earring (inspired by a Vermeer painting).

Her new novel Falling Angels is set just after Queen Victoria's death and follows two families who are brought together reluctantly through their daughters' friendship.
It looks at the different perspectives of what it meant to be a woman at a time when the suffrage movement was in full swing and is inspired by a London cemetery.
She explains how her local graveyard became the scene for her latest historical novel.
Falling Angels (HarperCollins, ISBN: 0007108257, £12.99).
Girl with a Pearl Earring (HarperCollins, ISBN: 0006513204, £5.99).
