Sexual Offences Bill Monday 31 March 2003
Rape
The conviction rate for rape currently stands at just 7%. The government is trying to change that by tightening the laws on consent in a bill going through parliament at the moment.

But as the bill reaches the committee stage of the House of Lords, certain clauses are under threat from peers who argue they'll confuse juries and lead to miscarriages of justice.
Vera Baird QC MP and Lord Thomas of Gresford QC join Jenni to discuss.
