Jo Evans was systematically abused between the ages of 11 and 12 every day she went to school by her headmaster, a family friend.
It wasn't until she saw her headmaster on the television 25 years later that she felt compelled to do something about it. Along with seven others who had also been abused by him, they took their case to court.
What followed was a slow and humiliating process which saw their abuser convicted but escape jail and which denied the victims an opportunity to take the witness stand and tell of their experiences.
Jo Evans joins Martha to tell, for the first time, her story and why she feels the judicial system favours the accused over the victims. For more information call the 大象传媒 Actionline on 0800 044 044. 'An Invisible Child' by Jo Evans will be published on 25 September by The Book Guild.
