Hope for Rwanda 31听Mar 2004
Next Wednesday marks the 10th anniversary of the genocide in Rwanda when up to a million Tutsis and moderate Hutus were killed. It lasted for 100 days.

Almost immediately afterwards the new government called for the diaspora of Rwandans who had settled in other countries as refugees to return to help to rebuild their own country. Around 750, 000 took up the challenge and Hope Azeda was one of them.

Hope was born in Uganda 32 years ago after her parents had fled from unrest in 1959 along with thousands of others Rwandans. Feeling in her heart Rwandan, she returned to Rwanda after she'd completed her degree in theatre studies.

Earlier this month, Felicity Finch went to see the theatre company she set up rehearsing in a small hall in a busy Kigali street, where Hope shared memories of her first night in the country in 1998.

And Felicty joins Jenni in the studio to talk about her experiences in Rwanda.
