That's news to me. What are they gonna do Arnish erect more signs, and spend a fortune on a survey to see if it is viable or not. Then have a few meetings, wait to see what the general concencus is and then do the opposite of what everyone wants. Well it isn't their money their spending is it?

Ye Gods! Whatever happened to the English language? Is texting taking over the world? I'd be curious to see a Burns ode in this new language....

jas: Was that English Burns wrote in? The first time I gave my younger daughter a book of poems by Burns to read, she burst out laughing at the incomprehensibility of it all: but she persisted, with the help of a university edition containing explanation of some of the more recondite terms. I must admit that I need all the help I can get myself ...

hey we aint all bad. I'm 18 and cant stand text talk

mjc: As a lowland Scot myself I do have to 'fess up and say that there are times I do need to stop and think about what he has written to get the gist of it. Burns was best known for writing in Scots dialect, however he did write over a hundred poems in standard English. There is a little book available called 'The English Poetry of Robert Burns' compiled by Eileen Doris Bremner.
