(1997) Location: Osborne House, Isle of Wight

Billy Connelly and Judi Dench stared as John Brown and Queen Victoria
in the 大象传媒 Films production. Following the death of Prince Albert,
Queen Victoria spent years at Osborne House on the Island. The film
tells the story of how servant John Brown is summoned across the Solent
in an attempt to lift her depression.

With
James Bond being a Royal Navy Commander, 007's appearance at Portsmouth
dockyard was only a matter of time. A deal was struck with the Royal
Navy to film much of Tomorrow Never Dies aboard HMS Westminster. The
bridge was blackened out so it looked as though it was night time
in the South China Sea and some members of the crew were brought in
to act as extras in the movie.

Mapperton
Gardens was the perfect setting for the period dramas including
Jane Austen's Emma, staring Gwyneth Paltrow. The house was also
used in the 大象传媒 TV adaptation of Tom Jones. It is set in a valley
among tumbling hills and unspoilt countryside. The house, Elizabethan
in origin, was enlarged in the late 1670s and is currently the home
of the Earl and Countess of Sandwich.
Wilde (1997) Stephen Fry stared as the Irish playwright
in the bio-pic. Scenes were shot around Lulworth & Studland Beaches
and the spacious grounds of the 18th Century Houghton Lodge in Stockbridge
in Hampshire.

John
Cleese, Michael Palin, Jamie-Lee Curtis headed an all-star cast
in the sequel to A Fish called Wanda. Filmed at Marwell Zoo near
Winchester, it tells the story of how the hapless zookeeper tries
to prevent the American owners from exterminating all the harmless,
cute animals.
Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves (1991) Location: The New Forest
Burham Beaches in Buckinghamshire and The New Forest in Hampshire
doubled up as Sherwood Forest for Kevin Cosner and co in the movie
which spawned the monster No 1 hit Everything I do, for Bryan Adams. The New

The story
of the ill-fated liner's trip from Southampton to New York was turned
into one of the most successful films of all time. However scenes
for James Cameron's epic staring Kate Winslett and Leonardo DeCaprio
were shot in Fox Studios, Baja in Rosarito, Mexico.

The French Lieutenant's Woman (1981)
Location: Lyme Regis, Dorset Lyme
Regis, was made famous as the Undercliff in the John Fowles romantic
novel, The French Lieutenant's Woman. The 1981 film staring Meryl
Streep and Jeremy Irons made the Cobb (sea wall) at Lyme Regis world
famous.
