Brighton & Hove Albion manager Gus Poyet says the club's wage structure will have to change to keep their star players at the Amex.
Earlier this week The Seagulls .
But Poyet told 大象传媒 Sussex: "It's something that will keep going until we change our wage structure.
"Footballers have very short careers and need to take the most [money] they can when they have the opportunity."
The Uruguayan added: "It's a difficult situation to deal with. There's a massive difference between what a player is earning at one club and what he can earn at another.
"There are other clubs and other agents that are trying to push the players to clubs where they are going to earn the most.
"We need to find the right balance either with the price or a new contract."
Meanwhile Poyet is currently being frustrated by his efforts to add to his squad.
"It's a normal transfer window: one day it looks like you will get 20, the next day you've got no-one," he said.
"No doubt there are possibilities. I hope we can do something quickly, because we need players."
