Paul Mullin celebrates after scoring his first goal of the season

Malachi Linton's fine half-volley saw Yeovil Town fight back to claim a point against National League title favourites Wrexham.

Paul Mullin, last season's National League player of the year, fired home his first of this campaign to give Wrexham an early lead.

Elliot Lee and Ollie Palmer then saw efforts blocked for the visitors.

But Yeovil levelled thanks to Linton's excellent finish from outside the box.

Wrexham then had substitute Bryce Hosannah to thank for making a smart block to deny Charlie Wakefield.

The draw means Yeovil have their first point of the season, while Wrexham have four from their opening two games.

Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson:

"We got off to a great start and I was looking for us to push on but our quality let us down a little bit at crucial times in the final third.

"After half-time the lad's smashed one in, a goal he will probably never score again.

"That gave them and the crowd a huge lift and for 10-15 minutes they were in the ascendancy. We had to come through that period and we did.

"We got decent control and probably should have won. We always come for three but we will take the point."
