Aaron Hayden scored twice as Wrexham moved up to fourth in with their first away of the season at 10-man Woking.

Woking's Kyran Lofthouse was shown a straight red card for a challenge on Luke Young before Hayden's header put Wrexham ahead

James Daly levelled but Hayden's second and Ollie Palmer's first goal of the season put Wrexham in control.

Reece Grego-Cox's penalty, after he was fouled by Young, gave Woking hope late on.

But Wrexham held on and were well worthy of a second successive win, which sees them two points behind league ;leaders Wealdstone while Woking are 14th.

The Welsh club have been the subject of much attention during the week with the premiere of the long awaited documentary series 'Welcome to Wrexham.'

Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson said:

"It's a hard place to come Woking - it was last year for us and other teams found it difficult. The sending off, they dropped back to 4-4-1 and then we got the goal which was perfect for us.

"I was confident we'd go out in the second half, control it and get chances - and I really thought we would. But straight from the break we've conceded with their first real chance.

"That period from 1-1 to 3-1 I was really pleased with. I though Elliot [Lee] coming on gave us that touch of quality we needed and I thought we were excellent during that period.

"We've got to be disappointed that we conceded - we were on the attack and we left ourselves exposed at the back a bit and we need to look at that.

"Periods of the game were good but there's other parts of it we can get better and we know that."
