Notts County 1-2 Dagenham & Redbridge

National League leaders Notts County's record 25-match unbeaten run was brought to an end as they suffered a shock 2-1 home defeat by managerless Dagenham & Redbridge.

Notts had not lost in the league since 17 September but their second seven-match winning streak of the season was brought to an end by the Daggers, who had parted company with boss Daryl McMahon only the night before.

Notts remain top of the table, but their lead has been cut to just two points over second-placed Wrexham, who have two games in hand and will go top if they win at home to Chesterfield on Tuesday night.

Ruben Rodrigues put the home side ahead in the 21st minute with his 14th goal of the season.

However, Dagenham, led by former Charlton Athletic stalwart Steve Gritt and Dave Jupp, equalised 10 minutes later through Angelo Balanta.

And, after Notts sub Jodi Jones and top scorer Macaulay Langstaff had both hit the post, the Daggers made them pay.

Second-half substitute Inih Effiong scored the winner in the 86th minute. And, despite five minutes of added time, including a frantic goal-line scramble, the visitors held on for all three points in front of a 7,441-strong home crowd.

The Daggers' second straight win lifts them to 10th, within three points of the play-off contenders.
