Charlton Athletic have signed defender Josh Edwards from Dunfermline Athletic for an undisclosed fee.

The 24-year-old has agreed a four-year deal at the Valley having played 182 times for the Scottish Championship side since joining them in 2019.

Edwards was named in last season's Scottish Championship Team of the Year and can play across the left side of defence and in midfield.

He is the third new player to join Charlton this summer after midfielder Luke Berry and goalkeeper Will Mannion.

"We鈥檝e beaten off a lot of competition from other clubs to bring him to Charlton," Addicks boss Nathan Jones told the club website.

"He's a player with a lot of potential, who has played a lot of games in Scotland over a number of years now. He has the attributes and the profile we look for and he'll only get better.

鈥淗is arrival will help give us real competition on the left-hand side. He provides something different to what we already have and he has a real scope to improve. I鈥檓 looking forward to working with him.鈥
