West Bromwich Albion goalkeeper Josh Griffiths has signed a new three-year contract with the Championship club.

The England youth international, who was part of last summer's under-21 training camp, is now signed up until the summer of 2027.

Hereford-born Griffiths, 22, spent the 2023-24 season as Albion's second-choice behind the ever-present Alex Palmer.

鈥淢y long-term goal is become Albion鈥檚 number one," Griffiths said.

"I really believe the club is going in one direction and that鈥檚 forwards. There鈥檚 an exciting few years ahead now with the new owner.

"However, I鈥檝e got to say Alex Palmer was outstanding last season. Probably the best goalkeeper in the league."

After season-long loans at Cheltenham Town (2020-21) and Lincoln City (2021-22), Griffiths was recalled from a season's loan at Portsmouth in January 2023 to make 10 first team team appearances, keeping 10 clean sheets. But he was limited to just three cup games in 2023-24.

Albion made the Championship play-offs last term, being beaten in the semis over two legs by eventually promoted Southampton.
