A juggling cyclist on stilts greeted me as I walked up to the velodrome this morning.
"Make sure you wear a helmet," he told a child. Sound advice.

Australia's Liam Adams has taken himself off up the road early in the men's marathon distancing the likes of Kenya's Jonathan Korir, Tanzania’s 2017 world bronze medallist Alphonce Simbu and Uganda's Victor Kiplangat,
It reminds me a bit of a breakaway rider in cycling zipping off the front of the peloton with 200km to go.
Surely he'll be reeled in at some stage.

Usually at this time on a Saturday morning I'd have just about finished Parkrun. The thought of then having to run another 23 miles or so...Ouch.

Heart-breaking for David Weir [after suffering a puncture while leading the men's wheelchair marathon]. It's been a huge commitment from him. To be able to finish is a statement in itself.
Men's wheelchair marathon
England's Johnboy Smith gave an excellent interview after winning gold - singing the praises of David Weir...
"It's bittersweet for me. Dave got a flat, he had me. By mile six he dropped me.
"I won, but the better man didn't win today.
"I take my hat off to Dave, Dave had me. He deserves gold, I should have got silver, but look, these things happen.
"Your majesty the Queen, if you're watching, give David Weir a knighthood, make him Sir David Weir, that man deserves it."
Men's wheelchair marathon
Fair play to David Weir, the Englishman rolls over the finish just under 25 minutes after winner Johnboy Smith, who called for his training partner to be given a knighthood in his post-race interview.
All of that to come.
Women's wheelchair marathon
Australia's Madison de Rozario takes gold in women's wheelchair marathon.
The defending champion finishes well clear of English duo Eden Rainbow Cooper and Shelly Oxley-Woods.

Great emotion this morning as Johnboy Smith takes the first gold medal in athletics for England in the men's wheelchair marathon.
ELO - Don't Bring Me Down plays over the speakers in Victoria Square as he comes in crowned as the new Commonwealth champion.
Men's wheelchair marathon
Johnboy Smith took gold for England in the men's T53/54 wheelchair marathon after his compatriot David Weir suffered a puncture while leading with under 10km remaining.
Weir, one of Britain’s great Paralympians, had looked set for a second Commonwealth gold medal, eight years after winning the T54 1500m title in Glasgow.
But the Londoner, who has eight London Marathon victories, six Paralympic gold medals and six world titles cut a frustrated figure as his back left wheel popped after he had opened up a gap of 90 seconds over his training partner Smith.
Scotland's Sean Frame took silver with England's Simon Lawson picking up a bronze.
In fact make that 21. You're joining us just shortly after conclusion of the men's and women's wheelchair marathons...
Good morning. The home nations picked up 18 medals in total on Friday's opening day of the Commonwealth Games and there are 23 gold medals up for grabs on Saturday.
