Diving: Men's synchro 3m springboard final

England's Jack Laugher and Ant Harding get the gold medal in the men's synchro 3m springboard final - and seal it in style with a 3.9 difficulty - the forward two and a half somersaults with three twists.

It's a score of 80.73 on dive number six, not as high as some of their previous efforts, but enough to ensure they have the victory.

Jack and Anthony have got their noses out in front, but the others are sharpening their elbows. All the other teams have lower degrees of difficulty but it all comes down to holding your nerve and how you execute.

England crank up the difficulty to 3.8 with dive number five - going with the forward four and a half somersaults in tuck.

It's another amazing effort from both Jack Laugher and Ant Harding, that's 88.92 and they've got one hand on the golds with one dive left.

Scotland are down to fourth, needing something special last time out to grab a medal.

    Men’s 4x400 relay heats

    What a race!

Reigning champions Botswana and 2018 bronze medallists Jamaica go head-to-head in heat one of the men's 4x400 relay qualifying and it's contested as though it's the final.

Botswana take it, from Jamaica, but Zambia and Nigeria were not far behind at all.

Nigeria will have to wait and see if they'll be in that final battle.

    Men’s doubles round of 16

Top seeds Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik of Malaysia are through to the last eight.

The Tokyo 2020 bronze medallists had been put through their paces by Scottish twins Christopher and Matthew Grimley in their round of 16 match at the NEC.

But the world number six pair are just too good in the key points and get through to the quarter-finals in straight games, 21-19, 21-16.

It is another good good dive from England. The synchronisation is marginally off, Jack over-rotating ever so slightly.

    Men's synchro 3m springboard final

Dive four for England is the inward three and a half somersaults in tuck. It has a difficulty of 3.4, as difficult as their previous dive.

It's another great dive from Jack Laugher and Ant Harding and it's 79.56. Not as good as round three, but still much better than any other pairing is managing.

Scotland's Ross Beattie and James Heatly are currently in third, with all five pairs having two more dives to go, but Laugher and Harding are 22 points clear out in front, two solid dives each away from gold.

    Scotland v Northern Ireland

There's a home nations clash over in the netball where Scotland are about to take on Northern Ireland in the play-off for ninth and 10th. Scotland won one of their Pool A games against Barbados while Northern Ireland beat Trinidad and Tobago in their final Pool B match on Thursday.

These two are quite closely matched and the players know each other well from their respective domestic leagues so it should be an interesting one.

Later, Wales take on Malawi in the play-off match for seventh or eighth.

There's a glimmer of daylight between England and the Malaysians at the top, and the England fans with their St George flags are happy with that. They want to hear Jerusalem.
