No, not the Chelsea midfielder, that was Cristiano Ronaldo's advice in the pre-match press conference as he shunned sugary drinks.

    Who remembers this?

In an odd coincidence, at Euro 2016, these two were drawn in the same group and, well, what a game it was... 3-3!

Cristiano Ronaldo scored two. This was the pick of the bunch.

Cristiano Ronaldo has to be one of the most recognisable people in the world, right?

Didn't stop him being pulled aside to have a closer look at his Uefa accreditation on his way into the ground.

Supporters were gathering in downtown Budapest before the game.

As mentioned early, there'll be around 60,000 inside the stadium itself.

The atmosphere is going to be something else.

The atmosphere has been building nicely in Budapest as fans prepare for this game. It is going to be quite surreal to see a pretty much packed out stadium.

    Hungary v Portugal (17:00 BST)

Hungary will be no pushovers and, despite being the outsiders of the group, they have a few things going for them.

For one, they are playing on home soil and will be backed by the biggest crowd of the tournament so far with around 60,000 in attendance at the Puskas Arena in Budapest.

    Image caption,

Thousands of fans are already in their seats at the Puskas Arena

Secondly, they topped their group at Euro 2016, finishing ahead of Portugal.

Thirdly, they are in decent form and are unbeaten in their last 11 matches in all competitions.

Finally, they have 'Gary' in their name. So that counts for something in my book.

Bet Cristiano Ronaldo is buzzing to set another record shortly when he makes a historic appearance at a fifth European Championship.

鈥淚鈥檓 not overwhelmed by this record,鈥 he says.

鈥淚t is a good record but more important than this would be to win back-to-back Euros. It鈥檚 important that we start with a victory.

"The crowd will be on their side but it鈥檚 good to play in front of a crowd. I鈥檓 going to enjoy this and the team is very ready.鈥

Cristiano Ronaldo is set for another record. As long as he plays today, he will become the first player to play at five men's European Championships and he's named in the starting 11.

It's a Portugal side full of Premier League experience, including Wolves pair Rui Patricio and Nelson Semedo, Manchester City duo Ruben Dias and Bernardo Silva, Manchester United's Bruno Fernandes and Liverpool's Diogo Jota.

Portugal XI: Rui Patricio, Nelson Semedo, Dias, Pepe, Guerreiro, Danilo Pereira, William Carvalho, Bruno Fernandes, Bernardo Silva, Ronaldo, Jota.

Subs: Fonte, Joao Moutinho, Andre Silva, Lopes, Rafa Silva, Sanches, Neves, Goncalves, Rui Silva, Joao Felix, Sergio Oliveira, Nuno Mendes.

By the end of this tournament Cristiano Ronaldo could have more records than a 1970s DJ.

As well as being one goal away from being the tournament's all-time leading scorer, Ronaldo needs to score just six goals to surpass Iran's Ali Daei as the all-time international goalscorer. He's currently on 104 goals, with Daei on 109.

In just over an hour Ronaldo will also definitely become the first man to appear in five European Championship tournaments.

  14. Record taker enters the fraypublished at 15:58 British Summer Time 15 June 2021

Nine goals in five games - Michel Platini's incredible goalscoring form at Euro 1984 remains a record to this day, holding the title as the competition's highest scorer for almost 40 years.

But that record is under serious threat from that serial record taker Cristiano Ronaldo...

... like Platini he, too, is on nine goals and needs just one more to become the European Championship all-time top scorer.

The Portugal star enters the fray today.
