It's a strong line-up from Manchester United and why not, playing against your rivals in a semi-final.

Ole Gunnar Solksjaer has to go strong tonight. There's a chance of silverware. Forget the cup, forget the semi-final, this is playing against your rival and you always want to get one over on them.

Manchester City have beaten Bournemouth 2-1, Burnley 3-0 and Arsenal 4-1 to reach this stage.

United have got past Luton Town and Brighton, both 3-0, and Everton 2-0.

Those first couple of rounds were in September with the quarter-finals just before Christmas.

For each of the past five years the Capital One Cup/League Cup/EFL Cup/Carabao Cup has been won by either Manchester City or United.

City have won in 2016, 2018, 2019 and 2020 with United breaking that run in 2017.

City also won in 2014, with Chelsea the last other team to lift it in 2015.

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says there will be "no excuses" if his team lose their fourth semi-final in 12 months.

Solskjaer's side lost to City in last year's Carabao Cup, to Chelsea in the FA Cup and against Sevilla in the Europa League.

"We have developed a lot in the last 12 months from last season's EFL Cup semi-final," he said.

"It is not just a case of learning how to win them, it is earning the right to go all the way. But we are confident and we are in good form. There are no excuses."

United have won eight out of their last 10 Premier League games.

Manchester City have welcomed Kyle Walker and Gabriel Jesus back to their squad tonight.

The pair had to spend 10 days in isolation after testing positive for coronavirus just before Christmas.

They have evidently missed too much training to start tonight but they are on the bench.

Both managers can use five substitutes tonight.

Manchester United make two changes from the side that beat Aston Villa 2-1 in the Premier League last time out.

Back-up keeper Dean Henderson comes in for David de Gea and Victor Lindelof steps in for Eric Bailly.

It's a night tinged with sadness at Old Trafford following the death of legendary Manchester City and England midfielder Colin Bell.

City's players will wear retro number eight shirts as they make their way onto the Old Trafford pitch in Bell's honour.

There will be a minute’s silence and both teams will wear black armbands.

I wonder if anybody called Trafford has played at Old Trafford before?

Manchester City goalkeeper Scott Carson and midfielder Cole Palmer have tested positive for Covid and will now isolate.

Eight City players have tested positive since Christmas Day.

City's first choice keeper Ederson is still isolating, so 18-year-old James Trafford is on the bench tonight.

Here's City's team now. Two of their goalkeepers have Covid so Zach Steffen starts again.

Sergio Aguero is on the bench.

Both sides name strong teams as you'd expect.

United make two changes and City, well they deleted their tweet. It looked a strong line-up in the few seconds I could see it.
