Ian: Let’s end this 0-0 thing right here. From now on 3pts win, 1pt score draw, 0.5pts no score draw (!), 0pt loss.

Shahin Nazer: I think the 0-0s in the beginning of the tournament can be attributed to lack of sufficient preparation time for most of the teams rather than fatigue! Should see higher quality matches as we move into the 2nd round of matches!

  4. 'I worry for Croatia'published at 12:07 Greenwich Mean Time 23 November 2022

    Joe Cole
Ex-Chelsea and England midfielder on ITV

They didn't have that spark they had a few years ago. They lacked something in the final third and I worry for them in this group.

  5. 'Disappointed'published at 12:03 Greenwich Mean Time 23 November 2022

    Morocco 0-0 Croatia

    Nigel de Jong
Former Manchester City midfielder on ITV

It felt like both teams were looking not to lose. I was really disappointed. Modric tried to play but it was not really going forward.

    Stephen Warnock
Former England defender on ´óÏó´«Ã½ Radio 5 Live

    Morocco did exceptionally well.

    Well-organised, energetic, well-drilled, pressed well.

Second half, they stayed organised and made it difficult for Croatia. 0-0 is a fair result.

  7. Another 0-0 drawpublished at 11:56 Greenwich Mean Time 23 November 2022

    FT: Morocco 0-0 Croatia

There was one 0-0 draw in 64 matches at the 2018 World Cup but we've had three in the last four games here.

    What's going on? Fatigue showing?

  8. FULL-TIMEpublished at 11:55 Greenwich Mean Time 23 November 2022

    Morocco 0-0 Croatia

    Nope, that's full time.

It was a game Morocco will probably feel they should have won. Croatia were pretty poor.

Some late pressure from Croatia and the Morocco jeers are loud again.

Will we see a late goal?

Hakim Ziyech is surrounded by three players on the right. He tries some rolls of the ball and flicks, they don't come off, he loses the ball and fouls Luka Modric.

In the majority of matches so far, the lack of quality in the final third has been painful to watch

Morocco’s fans have been amazing during the game. So loud and full of energy. With this support in Qatar their fixtures will feel like home matches. It could make a big difference in this group.

Six minutes of time added on!

Not sure where that has come from.

  15. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 89 mins

    Morocco 0-0 Croatia

Based on this display I'm not convinced Croatia will be reaching a second successive final, but it is early days.

Another change for Croatia with Ivan Perisic replaced by Mislav Orsic.

  16. Another goalless draw?published at 86 mins

    Morocco 0-0 Croatia

We had a huge shock yesterday with Saudi Arabia beating Argentina but we are on course for a third goalless draw in the four games since then.

    Stephen Warnock
Former England defender on ´óÏó´«Ã½ Radio 5 Live

Morocco haven't created many opportunities, for all their hard work and endeavour.

Ziyech has been very quiet in this second half.

Abde Ezzalzouli goes down a bit too easily on the left side of the Croatia box as he tries to get between two players. The referee is wise to it and waves play on.

  19. Croatia to step up a gear?published at 11:42 Greenwich Mean Time 23 November 2022

You can feel the nerves from the fans around the arena. It’s as if both sides are holding something back to avoid risking committing too many men forward and leaving themselves vulnerable. It’s a typical first game of a group stage. Morocco look extremely solid but I have a feeling Croatia are going to go up a gear in the last 10 minutes.

  20. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 81 mins

    Morocco 0-0 Croatia

A double change for Morocco as attacking midfielder Abdelhamid Sabiri, who played in the Premier League for Huddersfield, comes on for Azzedine Ounahi.

Striker Youssef En-Nesyri also makes way for Abderrazak Hamdallah.

It feels like Morocco are going for all three points.
