Brentford are looking to find form after failing to win in any competition since 19 August and they make just two changes from the defeat to Everton last time out.

So holders Manchester United are through to the last 16 of the EFL Cup, can their city rivals join them with a win at Newcastle tonight?

I say that because since Swansea won the EFL Cup in 2013, one of the two Manchester clubs has lifted the trophy in eight of the last 10 years.

Only Liverpool (2022) and Chelsea (2015) have managed to prise the EFL Cup away from Manchester in that time.

City have won it six times - in 2014, 2016 and from 2018 to 2021 - while United were victorious in 2017, as well as last year.

Would any fans of teams still in the competition - outside of Manchester - like to stake their claim to the trophy? Send us your reasons why this could be your year, using the contact details above.
