Las Palmas work an opening as the referee waves play on when Eduardo Camavinga goes down after a strong, but fair, tackle.

Las Palmas offered very little going forward in the first half. That will have to change if there are to get anything from this one.

It is currently goalless between Villarreal and Girona which means that Real Madrid will go top as it stands.

Another 45 minutes to go in both games, though, so it could all change.

That was some performance from Alvaro Valles in the Las Palmas goal.

He made seven saves in the first 45 minutes but there was nothing he could do to keep out Brahim Diaz's effort just before the interval.

That was the last kick of the first half. Real Madrid totally dominant and finally get the goal their play has deserved just before the break.

Two minutes of added time are announced as Alvaro Valles makes another save from Joselu, this time sticking out his left boot to repel a low drive.

Another big chance goes begging!

Eric Curbelo is caught in possession by Federico Valverde, he bursts down the right and squares for Joselu.

The striker only has the goalkeeper to beat but, for the umpteenth time in this first half, Alvaro Valles is there to make the save.

Real Madrid have done everything but score so far.

Concern for Real Madrid as David Alaba heads off having sustained an injury.

There was not much warning so I'm not sure exactly what he's done. Whatever it is, Lucas Vazquez is on to replace him.

Las Palmas just can't get out and on the occasions when the break has been on, their passing and decision-making has been off.

Another good chance for Real Madrid and it falls to Brahim Diaz.

He's played in down the right channel by Joselu but a heavy touch allows Alvaro Valles to come out and win the ball with a slide tackle!

Unorthodox from the Las Palmas goalkeeper but he won the ball cleanly.

No offside this time but again Joselu is denied by Alvaro Valles!

It's Antonio Rudiger putting the ball in from the right this time, Joselu is in acres of space at the far post, takes a touch but his firm left-foot shot is beaten away by the advancing Valles.

The home side are ramping up the pressure now.
