Jake Trueman puts in a pretty tame kick at the end of what had been a promising attack for Castleford in the early stages of this second half against Salford.

A thrilling first half and shaping up for a cracking second 40 minutes.

Castleford have what looks like a tremendous turn and ground from Liam Watts but there's a stunning try-saver from Danny Addy and Tui Lolohea.

In the end, it's Addy's foot which stops Watts from grounding the ball successfully. Stunning last-ditch stuff.

A finely-poised quarter-final if I've ever seen one with two very evenly matched sides battling it out here.

Harvey Livett concedes a penalty just past halfway with a rash high tackle. A rare error in this match.

Danny Addy looks to dart his way through having seen a gap in Castleford's defence as they desperately try to hold Salford up.

He almost succeeds but Cas steal the ball in the process inches before he manages to touch down over the line.

Salford are in the ascendancy now and are well and truly camped in Castleford's 10.

Kevin Brown sends another grubber kick through and Oli Holmes is forced to knock the ball dead.

Kevin Brown is having a fine old game for Salford as the veteran set up their first try and he's battering his way through the Castleford back line as they attack.

Salford were under the pump for the first few minutes of the game but kept complete calmness in their game.

They didn't try to push the pass and they were happy to bang away in the middle of the park and draw energy out of the Castleford forward pack.

A good ball game here, with both sides putting some decent kicking in up and down the field, putting to shame the earlier Hull FC v Wigan tie.

Almost a quarter of an hour gone and it's shaping up to be a competitive tie with two teams going at each other in these early stages.
