Cleaning up Suffolk's schools

大象传媒 Suffolk's anti-litter campaign is going back to school - with children around the county doing their part in the big clean up.

Breakfast presenter Mark Murphy has written to all schools and sent specially designed posters for them to display around their grounds.

"We'd really love schools to join in our bid to clean up the county," said Mark. "It would be great to see schools tidying up around their premises both inside and outside the school gate.

"We're really keen to hear what schools are doing to spread the anti-litter message. So often youngsters are portrayed as not caring about things but I know that's not the case and it would be great to highlight on air some of the good work today's kids are doing, so let me know what you're up to!"

Pick it up!

There's nothing like singing a jolly song to help enthuse you during a litter pick. So, we've written one.

Well, we've at least made a start.

Now the challenge is for any creative types young or old, to show their aversion to litter by writing a version of our song!

Have a listen and see what you think:

Elmsett Primary School have already set their budding song-smiths to work.

They've also produced a lots of creative posters, including the best superhero of them all 'super bin man'.

"I think they've done really well and been very enthusiastic," head teacher Myra Shackleton said.

"The children themselves are very conscious of litter and of looking after the environment, not only for now but for people to come in the future.

"They're also concerned about animals and living things and they don't like litter."

Pupils at Risby Primary School in West Suffolk have also been addressing the issue of litter.

As well as designing posters they've also presented clean up ideas to their local councillor:
