Synopsis
Puck takes us to a lowly house on the other side of Athens - the home of Mistress Quince.
Quince has assembled a troupe of amateur actors - the Mechanicals - and they are to begin rehearsing a play based on the story of 'Pyramus and Thisbe', which has been penned by Quince herself and will be performed in front of Theseus and Hippolyta as part of the wedding celebrations.
The actors are a motley collection of tinkers, tailors and bellows-menders鈥nd one would-be thespian called Nick Bottom who constantly interrupts Quince to showcase his talents.
Once the parts for the play have been assigned by Quince the actors agree to meet that night to begin rehearsals at a secret location in the woods.
