Macbeth and Banquo are returning from battle when they meet the Weird Sisters on a heath.

1. The Weird Sisters

When Macbeth and Banquo arrive at King Duncan's camp Macbeth discovers he is now Thane of Cawdor.

2. All Hail, Macbeth! Thane of Cawdor!

Macbeth returns to Dunsinane where Lady Macbeth persuades him to murder King Duncan.

3. Daggers for King Duncan

Duncan's murder is discovered; Malcolm and Donalbain flee, while Macbeth is crowned king.

4. All hail, Macbeth! King of Scotland!

Macbeth sends assassins to kill Banquo and Fleance. Later he sees Banquo's ghost.

5. A trap for Banquo

Macbeth returns to the Weird Sisters. They tell him to beware of Macduff.

6. Something wicked this way comes

Malcolm and Macduff have raised an army and march north to confront Macbeth at Dunsinane.

7. Preparing for battle

Malcolm's army attacks Dunsinane and Macbeth is confronted by Macduff.

8. Birnam Wood comes to Dunsinane
