The Boro Wheel will have 30 glass-sided observation pods, each able to carry five people and play specially recorded on-board commentary. Operators World Tourist Attractions say they will charge 拢5 for adults and 拢3 for children for a 15-minute ride which would feature three revolutions of the wheel. The view from the top will stretch from the Cleveland Hills to the ships queuing to enter Teesport, three miles out to sea, taking in Middlesbrough, Stockton, Thornaby, Hartlepool and Redcar in the process. It will also provide a unique view of arguably the most impressive industrial vista in the country, showing Teesport, Seal Sands, Lackenby Steelworks and the Wilton Chemcial Complex that was the inspiration for the iconic cityscape featured in the Hollywood blockbuster, "Blade Runner". The initial plan would see the wheel remain in Middlesbrough's Centre Square until after Christmas, when a decision will be taken on whether to extend its stay in the town. last updated: 10/04/2009 at 15:53 SEE ALSOYou are in: Tees > Places > Places Features > The Boro big wheel 5 DAY FORECAST
