 Have you kept in contact with everyone?
 Floyd Pearce and Gavin Trace were the other guys in the group, but I haven't seen them for ages. The last I saw of Floyd was when he joined Hot Gossip in 1980. Gavin, unfortunately, was sacked half way through the engagement, it was just after we did 'Heaven Must Be Missing An Angel'. Gavin, I think, was finding it hard to keep up, because of the pace and quick turn around. Flick again didn't make a big thing of it, she just asked whether he was happy in the group. He then just volunteered to leave. She dealt with it really well.
What did you do straight after?
Fortunately, I'd done other things before, so I'd had quite a bit of experience by then. So, I worked again with Nigel Lithgoe and did two live TV appearances at the Palladium and then went on to work with Brian Rogers on another TV series. Around this time I also formed my own dance troupe, Phillip Haigh and Wild Cover. We did the Donna Style Show, Ken Dodd, Windsor Davies and went to Belfast to entertain the British army. Then I went to Korea for four months to join the Bluebells, and worked in Seoul as their principal singer and dancer. I did other TV and fashion choreography.
So, what do you do now?
Well I do still choreograph, but eventually I went into my father's retail furniture business. I took a business course a while back as I knew that after the age of 30 my career as a performer would be over pretty much. You're considered to be a bit of an old crock by that age, like an athlete. Now, I'm working as a sales executive.
Do you still dance from time to time?
No...at my age, I'd find it difficult to get my legs where they used to go.
Not tempted to break out into a routine at weddings?
Well...and I'm sure it's the same for some of the others who were in the troupe...when I hear an old song that I danced for on Top Of The Pops, I can't help doing the routines in my head. It was such a great time and experience, it was just a shame it had to come to an end so quickly.
Do you still tell people that you used to be on Top Of The Pops?
I think it's such an institution in Britain and it's so famous across the world, isn't it the longest running pop show ever... Anyway, people have always had a love and high regard for the show, so it was certainly a great honour to be part of it. Some groups only appeared once or twice, but to be able to say that I was part of the show for nearly a year is a really great honour.
