1975: Garage full of gramophone records
"Most 78s are not worth the shellac they're made of."
Nationwide's Christopher Rainbow reports from the home of Brian Rust, who has a collection of about 13,000 78rpm gramophone records, most of which he stores in his garage.
The rarer and more valuable records are shelved in Mr Rust's study. He reviews some of his personal favourites - "Skadatin D" by Sammy Stewart and his Orchestra, "If I Can't Have You" by Annette Hanshaw - and his oldest 78, a rather scratchy version of "The Laughing Song" by George W. Johnson, and describes how he acquired them.
