1976: Julie Andrews on escaping her Mary Poppins' image
The Walt Disney musical Mary Poppins made a Hollywood star out of actress Julie Andrews when it premiered in Los Angeles, 60 years ago this week.
The 1964 film captivated audiences with its blend of live-action, animation and music and Andrews' portrayal of the magical nanny earned her the Academy Award for Best Actress.
However the success of the movie also help create a sweet, wholesome image of the actress that would come to define her for many people for years afterwards.
In 1976, on the 大象传媒 Tonight show, presenter Sue Lawley questioned her if she felt typecast by her early success and if she had ever regretted taking the role.
