1984: Beryl Reid on Wogan
The actress and entertainer, Beryl Reid, was always on fine form when in conversation with Terry.
Beryl was born on 17 June 1919 in Hereford.
A star of stage and screen, she won a Tony Award winner for 'The Killing of Sister George', reprising the role in the film version, and an Olivier Award winner for ''Born in the Gardens'.
She also won a BAFTA for her role in 'Smiley's People' (1982).
With notable film roles in 'The Belles of St. Trinian's' (1954), 'The Assassination Bureau' (1969) and 'No Sex Please, We're British' (1973).
A regular guest on the show, and on the airwaves across Britain, she died in 1996.
