1989: Kent barracks bomb kills 11 soldiers
A bomb explodes at an army barracks in Kent on 22 September 1989.
The IRA claimed responsibility for the bomb, which blew apart the recreation centre at the Royal Marine School of Music in Deal, Kent.
The blast killed ten soldier and another soldier died of injuries he suffered in the explosion a month later.
The death of the bandsmen provoked a full review of security at UK military bases.
