In this short interview, archaeologist Sir Max Mallowan talks about how he first met Agatha Christie, who was already a famous author, when he was ordered to take her along on his dig at the Ur of the Chaldees in Iraq. He recalls her talent for archaeology, reveals how he knew she would make an ideal life companion and describes some of her working practices.

Agatha Christie's book of reminiscence, Come Tell Me How You Live (1946), describing the Mallowans' life on archaeological expeditions in Syria, was a homecoming present to her husband at the end of World War Two.
