Amen Corner were one of the top pop acts of the late 1960s, with tracks like Bend Me, Shape Me.

London called for any band trying to make it in the music industry; and duly they signed to Decca's offshoot Deram Records. Their first hit single, Gin House went into the charts in summer 1967.

  • Blue Weaver: organ
  • Neil Jones: guitar
  • Clive Taylor: bass

Another three singles were released on Deram but it took a move to Andrew Loog-Oldham's Immediate label to score the huge hits they had long been threatening. (If Paradise Is) Half As Nice shot to number one in early 1969 - a first for a Welsh group. But despite a couple more hit singles, they split up at the turn of the decade.

Fairweather-Low, Weaver, Taylor and Jones formed Fairweather, prior to Fairweather-Low moving on to find solo stardom and later becoming a long-time member of Eric Clapton's band. Blue Weaver went on to join The Strawbs.

Jones moved into music management and guided LA Guns in the 1980s before returning to south Wales and promoting live music.
