Welsh Surf Clubs

Welsh surf club listings - Join a club, compete, receive BSA insurance, watch surf vids...

- Contact Jamie Bateman

The club was first founded in 1969 and was then called 'CREST' which was an anagram of the local surf spots consisting of Coney-Rest-Esp-Sker-Trecco. This name was changed to Welsh Coast Surf Club in the early 70's. Club nights are held on the first Tuesday of every month at The Jolly Sailor Public House, Newton, Porthcawl at 7.30 pm. Come along and watch a surf video on the big screen and have a chat with fellow surfers. All ages, sexes and abilities are welcome.

Aberafan Surf Club
The original club was formed by local surfers in 1968, many are still involved in the running and management of its affairs. The club prides itself on its history and friendly outlook. The list of champions past and present is impressive in that the tradition started in the 60's has continued and still carries on today.

- We are club based in the Swansea area with loads of galleries on our site, currently in the process of helping to organise a fundraising party and comp. The party will be held at a newly opened bar in Swansea the 'Sand Bar' run by two of the clubs founding members!

- Just a bunch of people who all love surfing. If you do too, come out to play. Find us in the sea, the bar or email us. We meet every week on Tuesday at about 7:30 pm in Rummers. There, we drink and swap lies about the biggest waves we've ever caught. We surf as often as possible in as many places as possible, running weekend trips several times a term, and bigger trips thrown in every now and then.

- Longboard club, based in Porthcawl for surfers of all ages and ability. Exclusive offers for club members, free t-shirts, stickers and BSA insurance + regular club contests and bbq's. The Prince of Wales pub is the main venue for club nights. Contact Steve Horn for details or visit the website.
