At Buckingham Palace here in London, there is currently a special exhibition celebrating 60 years of the Commonwealth.
On display are the gowns and jewels worn by Queen Elizabeth II during her royal tours to Commonwealth countries as well as the gifts she was given while there including those from African leaders.
Indeed the Queen has officially visited the continent 13 times and it was during her stay in Kenya in 1952 that she received the news that her father had died and she was to become the next British monarch.
Network Africa's Sharon Hemans went to take a look at Queen and Commonwealth: The Royal Tour.
