Mubarak steps down

After 18 days of protest in Egypt, President Hosni Mubarak has stepped down. The announcement happened at approximately 1600 GMT. The army will now take control.

    Rashad from Bahrain emails - The Army says it will ensure that reforms will happen in an attempt to overcome the people untrust of the Government. What assurance the Army has that those leaders -- appointed by the president -- will remain after the protesters leave the streets?
