We're on 大象传媒 World News TV at 1500GMT and 1830GMT and on 大象传媒 World Service radio at 1700 and 1800GMT. So no shortage of space which is just as well considering the myriad of moral issues being raised by the raid that led to Osama bin Laden's death.
Osama bin Laden wasn't armed when he was shot dead. The Archbishop of Canterbury says he's 'uncomfortable' with what happened, suggesting that it's hard for 'justice to be seen to be done' when someone is killed in such circumstances.
Do you agree?
Or did you just want Bin Laden dead however that was achieved? Is your answer affected by news that al Qaeda appears to have been planning further attacks on America.
President Obama justified not releasing photos of Bin Laden's body by saying 'it's not who we are'. I wonder what we have learned from this raid about what America is?
Also, if waterboarding produced information that led to the raid, do you think such methods have now been justified?
And, if America had doubts about the Pakistan intelligence agency, was it justified in failing to tell Pakistan before carrying out the raid?
One other thought: If President Bush had ordered this raid rather than President Obama, do you think he'd have received more criticism from the media?
Book your call early for the radio and the TV as the level of response to this story is astonishing.

As sad and wrong the killing of an unarmed person might be, the killing of ossama bin laden was right. Keeping him alive would have only radicalised terrorist groups in the world, resulting in horrible acts of killing.

His killing shows our modern moral vacuum when death is equated with justice. That 'eye for an eye' logic will leave us all blind.

Just because he lived by the sword, doesn't mean we had to kill him by the sword. Killing him makes us little better than him.

It doesn't matter how he was killed, it doesn't matter if he was unarmed, every thing is justified if it's in favour of people and against what the world hates and is suffering from.

If Osama Bin Laden had turned himself in to authorities for traditional justice for his crimes, he wouldn't have been shot. However, he chose to evade justice and continued perpetuating his crimes.

Osama was a casualty of war, not a civil or federal case of murder. He went after civilians without reason.

No matter how bad Osama was, fair trial is the right thing for every criminal. If every criminal is killed without giving a fair trial are we making this world a heaven or a jungle?

@大象传媒_WHYS Morally, it is justified that he was killed like that, considering the crime he had committed against humanity.

Justice was served. He may have been unarmed but 3000 plus people were also unarmed. Justice was served by our president who made it a mission to follow through to find this murderer.

Bin Ladin was a soldier in a war still being waged against the U.S. and other such self-chosen enemies. In war, soldiers try to kill enemy soldiers. When he chose his path, he chose his death.

When are we going to wake up to the reality that we're dealing with people who are careless about your life? An eye for an eye will warn you not to break someone's nose.

It's not about justice for the sake of justice, it's about practical necessity. Killing him has done bodily harm to an organisation whose ill intentions are proven beyond doubt. It will shatter their illusion of invincibility, a little.

Is it truly in America's best interest to lose any claim to the moral high ground and sink to the same level as the terrorists?

I would have liked to hear Bin Laden's story of why he turned against the West. The 'terrorists' have won as soon as we practice 'an eye for an eye". Isn't it time to look in the mirror?

From Steph in Spain, we had the Nuremburg trials at the end of World War 2, so we should have put Bin Laden on trial.

I don鈥檛 recall any debate on the "legality" of the deaths on 7/11 or the legality of all those killed in suicide bombings inspired by Osama Bin Laden.Osama Bin Laden had declared war on the non-moslem world and was killed as any other enemy combatant. This was not about vengeance, it was simply about a death in war - the war OBL declared and pursued.

The U.S intentionally killed Osama Bin Landen because they knew he would uncover the Americans whose hands were on the 9/11 attack. Capturing him alive, was the best move to know more abov the Al-Qaeda net work. James, Freetown,Sierra Leone.@

First arrest then justice. True justice can't be done without arrest. Like Saddam Hussain in Iraq. What if Al-Qaeda take revenge? Who will be responsible for that?
