These fragments of the Berlin Wall were picked up by my father and grandfather at the time the Berlin Wall was being torn down.
My object was created to stop the East Germans fleeing to West Germany. This was created for many terrible reasons, one of which killed 192 people. It tells us the true regime of communism and what it was actually about. It shows us that it tormented lives. It also shows us that it completely dominated peoples lives, it is a recent thing to happen to this world and I am happy it has stopped. This was a life changing event in the history of the World and it is quite likely that it will never be forgotten.
