These piquet brooches were bought over a period of years until about twenty years ago. They date from 1850s. They're Victorian and built from the shell of the Hawksbill turtle which is an endangered species now. I started collecting gold brooches but they were too expensive so I bought these. My wife was looking for a brooch and these appealed. A pair of spectacles are also included.
