This 200/250 volt travel iron was made in Britain by Clayton Lewis & Millar Ltd. As travel became more popular for the middle classes, manufacturers began to develop travel accessories for people who counl not afford a maid or valet - or a full service hotel. This particular iron was apparently used on a Commonwealth, as there were photos of the places visited in the suitcase when it was purchased from an antiques dealer.
