The ceilings in the Polar Museum's Memorial Hall were painted in situ by Macdonald Gill FRIBA. They depict the Arctic and Antarctic and commemorate famous expeditions and explorers. The domes show the state of knowledge of the polar regions when the building was opened in 1934.
