This belonged to my father, Leslie Hookham, who was in the merchant navy. In fact, he was one of the youngest to join up at the age of 14/15. He travelled all over the world and was away for months at a time - he would have used this sextant for navigation. Later on in life he became a river pilot in Gravesend.
