Lindsey Baker from Sheffield owns a plaster statue of a German Shepherd dog and a young boy, which she says dates from the 1930s. When she bought it she was told that it was a typical prize to be given out at fairs in that period. The statue now lives on Lindsey's floor: "It would dominate any table or any sideboard. I get some odd comments about it when people come round - some think it's a bit tacky! Hideous is definitely the word - it's very gaudy and extremely large."
