In the late 1950's my Father became interested in geology and on an outing to Lake Vyrnwy he had his Observer book of geology and suggested we look out for any unusual stones. The water levels were low that day and to his delight I quickly tripped over this Nautiloid. We had to take it to the local Technical College for identification and I believe it to be a Homolonotus from the Ordovician or Silurian period. I don't have a particular interest in geology but this example is my favourite memoir of my Father, who died in 2005.
