Bass tuba from a German marching band

Geoff brought a bass tuba to ´óÏó´«Ã½ Guernsey's Outside Broadcast at the Guernsey Museum.

He writes: "This instrument was in the German infantry band 'Pioneer Battalion 15' which marched into Guernsey in 1940.

"I found it in the loft of an old barn in 1966 and purchased it from the owner."

A photo of the band marching past Lloyds Bank at the top of St Peter Port High has become an iconic image of the occupation of Guernsey by German Forces between 1940 and 1945.
