This is a Communist Party wall poster from Germany in 1933. You can see the paste marks where it was fly-posted. The text reads, 'Hitler in Power - so far no capitalists expropriated - only workers killed - workers your power can beat fascist terror - vote Communist list 3'. The poster was produced for the last elections in Germany where parties other than the National Socialists could stand. Those who printed and put up this poster would have been sent to concentration camps soon after. That the workers could not stop Hitler was due in part to the sectarian policy of the Communist Party which refused to make a united front with the Social Democrats and considered them 'social fascists'. The Communists believed that the working class would rise up after a short experience of Hitler - 'After Hitler us!' But it was not to be. The survival of this poster is remarkable.
