My object is an American Silver Dollar, often called a Silver Eagle. This is a pure silver bullion coin weighing one ounce, it carries a nominal value of $1.00. Bullion in bar and coin form is how silver, gold and other metals is often traded. Bullion coins are often collected also.
This coin was recovered from bullion vaults in the World Trade Centre where the New York Metals Exchange has been located. Some of the coins recovered were mounted in cases and made available to collectors.
I've mounted the coin in a frame along with some keepsakes and photographs taken on a visit to the World Trade Centre that I made with freinds in 1998.
I see the coin as a little part of a significant day in recent history and it forms part of a collection which I keep in memorium.
